Mahindra XUV400: India’s leading automobile company Mahindra is working on its new passenger vehicle these days. Of the 13 new Mahindra vehicles, 8 will be battery-powered electric vehicles. The company can launch all these electric vehicles by the year 2027. One of these is the electric variant of Mahindra eXUV300 which has been in the news for quite some time now.
Rajesh Jejuriyakar, Executive Director, Auto, and Farm Sector, Mahindra Group has hinted that the electric version of the XUV 300 may enter the market under the name XUV 400. Hindustan Times reports that Rajesh Jejurikar told a press conference that the automaker Mahindra is considering renaming the upcoming eXUV300 EV as XUV400. But nothing has been finalized yet.
XUV300 EV may enter under a new name
Earlier it was reported that Mahindra is looking to bring a new mid-size SUV, which will be called the XUV400. This SUV from Mahindra will be a model between XUV300 and XUV500. The code name of this mid-size SUV was S204 and it was planned to be built on Ford’s B platform. Through this vehicle, Mahindra is planning to compete with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. However, the partnership of Mahindra and Ford did not work out. Now the XUV400 can be renamed to eXUV300 EV.
Mahindra’s first electric SUV
Mahindra showcased the eXUV300 EV at the Auto Expo 2020. This electric vehicle of Mahindra made a lot of headlines during the expo. Along with this, it was also successful in attracting the attention of the people. It is expected that the production model of Mahindra eXUV300 EV will be based on Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA).
